1 1⁄2 cups strawberries, sliced
1 pie crust
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1⁄2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons SOOC Basil Olive Oil
1 cup SOOC Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line pan with parchment paper.
We are going to start with the balsamic reduction. You will bring the balsamic vinegar and salt to a boil. Then, reduce the heat and allow it to simmer until it is reduced. Allow to cool before using!
Now, on to the filling mixture! In a bowl, combine the strawberries, basil, flour, sugar, and lime juice together.
Roll out the pie crust flat on the counter.
Assemble the strawberry mix in the center of the pie crust, leaving 1 inch around the edges.
Fold the edges, pinching them in, to form your crust.
Beat the egg with 28 grams or 1/8 cup water. Brush the egg mix over the edges of the crust.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are brown.
Mix the balsamic reduction and olive oil together and drizzle on the galette. Enjoy!
