FAQ's

What is balsamic vinaigrette?

A balsamic vinaigrette is balsamic vinegar that has been combined with oil (such as olive oil!) and other ingredients or seasonings to create a dressing that can be used for salads and other dishes.

How to make balsamic vinaigrette?

We suggest 1 part vinegar to 2 parts oil, but the ratio is up to your taste! You can use one of our delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar pairings to create a perfect balsamic vinaigrette. If you need more ideas, check out our [Recipes section](https://saratogaoliveoil.com/pages/recipes) for more balsamic vinaigrette recipes.

Is balsamic vinaigrette healthy?

Yes! Both olive oil and balsamic vinegar have lots of health benefits, and using a balsamic vinaigrette as a salad dressing can be very good for you.

Is balsamic vinaigrette gluten free?

If you make your balsamic vinaigrette with Saratoga Olive Oil Co’s olive oils and balsamic vinegars, your balsamic vinaigrette can be gluten free! All of our olive oils and balsamic vinegars are gluten free, so you can enjoy a delicious and healthy balsamic vinaigrette without the gluten.

How to make balsamic glaze?

Just add the desired amount of balsamic vinegar (Saratoga Olive Oil balsamic, of course!) in a small sauce pan (note that this will be reduced by about half). Put on your stovetop and bring to a boil over low heat and then reduce heat to a simmer for 10-15 minutes. The amount that you end up with is about ½ of what you start with and it will thicken slightly as it cools. As an added extra treat, try our [Denissimo Balsamic Vinegar](https://saratogaoliveoil.com/products/denissimo-balsamic-vinegar). This balsamic is naturally a bit thicker due to the longer aging process in a series of five different casks of mulberry, ash, oak, juniper, and cherry wood. The result is a dense and complex flavor which includes notes of dried fruits, hints of dark chocolate and malt; perfect for a balsamic glaze.
