Hawaiian Pizza with Crispy Prosciutto

Hawaiian Pizza with Crispy Prosciutto

Pineapple on pizza gets a lot of hate and we’ll never understand why. Since when is adding a bit of sweet to your salty a bad thing? We’ll admit, it took us a while to muster up the courage to bring pineapple pizza to you since the animosity towards it is high. But this Hawaiian pizza offers up salty crispy prosciutto with its bursts of sweet juicy pineapple and—honestly—we’re not sorry about it!

So, what is Hawaiian pizza? Tomato sauce, cheese, pineapples, and ham; sometimes bacon. That’s all it takes to make a “traditional” Hawaiian pizza. But it’s worth noting that, despite its name, this pie has nothing to do with Hawaii itself, minus the pineapple.

Whether it’s a weeknight dinner, game night snack, or a treat-yourself kind of moment, this pizza delivers bold flavor with minimal effort.

Products used: Pizza Olive Oil & Pineapple Balsamic

Ingredients

1 store-bought pizza crust
1 tablespoon SOOC Pizza Olive oil
1 tablespoon SOOC Pineapple Balsamic Vinegar
1 cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
6-8 slices of prosciutto
1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)
½ small red onion, thinly sliced (optional but recommended!)
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Red pepper flakes for a kick (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat your oven according to 425°F. Crisp the prosciutto. Lay the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 6–8 minutes, or until crispy. Let them cool slightly, then break into pieces.

2. Brush your crust lightly with olive oil and balsamic. Place crust onto parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 508 minutes.

3. Take out of the oven and spread the pizza sauce evenly over the crust and sprinkle on the mozzarella. Add pineapple chunks, red onion slices, and crispy prosciutto pieces.

4. Bake your pizza in the oven, typically 10–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and edges are golden brown. Sprinkle with fresh herbs and red pepper flakes if you like a little heat. Slice it up and enjoy while it’s hot!
