Cheddar Herb Biscuits

Cheddar Herb Biscuits

These cheddar biscuits are one of my favorite recipes I have created. They are so simple, easy to put together, and delicious. You can add chives and other herbs to the dough before rolling out for an elevated flavor.

Recipe by Anna Chighizola.

Products used: Tuscan Herb Olive Oil, Traditional 18-Year Balsamic Vinegar

Ingredients

3 cups Gluten-Free All Purpose Flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1⁄2 cup Tuscan Herb Olive Oil
1⁄2 cup buttermilk, plus 2 tablespoons for brushing
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 1⁄2 teaspoons Traditional 18-Year Balsamic Vinegar
2 sticks butter, unsalted (8 oz.)

Directions

Pre-heat your oven to 450 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment.

To make the biscuits, combine dry ingredients in a bowl and stir. Drizzle the olive oil onto the dry ingredients and toss gently. Add the buttermilk and continue to mix until a shaggy dough forms. Knead on the counter until combined. Roll out the dough and cut desired circles. Place on a baking tray.

Brush the tops of each biscuit with the buttermilk set aside for brushing. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the oven.

Allow to cool slightly, then serve warm.

You can combine the balsamic vinegar and butter to spread onto the biscuits! This adds another flavor component and is great!
